About Us
April 2023 President's Message
We had a hybrid dinner meeting on March 28, featuring a facilitated discussion on the topic The Future of Project Management - what skills are required for success? Unfortunately, the registration did not appear on the website until March 27 and the weather again was bad, so attendance was limited. Maybe the planets will align for this month’s meeting on April 25. It will again be hybrid at La Posada and on Zoom. Please plan to join us starting at 5:30 pm for a facilitated roundtable discussion on effective stakeholder communication. We really need more participation in these monthly meetings. See the chapter website (PMI-NNV.org) for registration information.
Our annual election of officers is coming up in May. Because this is an odd-numbered year, we will be voting for President, President-Elect, VP Member Services, and VP Marketing. (We have to elect a President because we currently have no President-Elect, who would automatically become President.) If you are interested in running for one of these positions, please let me know right away, unless you have already done so. We will once again make use of PMI’s election system; details will be sent out next month.
One consequence of our protracted period of inactivity during the pandemic was that I didn’t accrue many PDUs. My PMP is due for renewal in October, and I was surprised to be so far from the required 60 PDUs. I urge everyone to check your record on the PMI website and take action to get caught up. Note that PMI has updated its Talent Triangle yet again. The new categories are Ways of Working, Power Skills, and Business Acumen. To renew a PMP, you need a minimum of 35 Education PDUs, including at least 8 in each of those three categories. The rest can be any combination of Education and Giving Back. Details are on the PMI website at Certifications > Maintain Your Certification.
If you have any ideas for how we can increase the value of your chapter membership, please let us know. We want our chapter to be an important part of your professional life.
I hope you all are well and thriving.

February 2023 President's Message
It is February already; I don’t know how that happened.
There is a dinner meeting scheduled for February 28. As usual, it will be at La Posada Real and will start at 5:30 pm. In addition to good food and drink, this will include a facilitated discussion on the topic The Future of Project Management - what skills are required for success? Everyone who attended the last such meeting felt that it was very stimulating and worthwhile, so please sign up. We really need to at least double our dinner meeting attendance.
If you have any ideas for how we can increase the value of your chapter membership, please let us know. We want our chapter to be an important part of your professional life.
I hope you all are well and thriving.

UPDATE: The dinner meeting scheduled for this month has been canceled. It will continue next month.
