Member Services Charter

PMI-Northern Nevada (PMI-NNV) is a member-based and member-run professional association of practicing project and program managers; operating around Northern Nevada, since 2009.

The PMI-NNV Chapter is a not-for-profit organization founded on April of 2009. Our chapter currently has over 180 members with 67% of those members certified as Project Management Professional (PMP®). On the average, we have over 30 people attend our monthly chapter dinner meetings and our lunch meetings (in Reno & Carson City) with audiences in the 12-20 range on a monthly basis. Revenue received from membership fees have allowed the Chapter to keep membership fees stable and conduct events at affordable prices for members and friends.

PMI NNV is one of 385 chapters in Project Management Institute (PMI). PMI is an international professional association of project management professionals founded in 1969. PMI has become the organization of choice for engineering, information systems, construction and a growing list of other business, government and educational career project professionals.

The mission of PMI is to:

  • Advance the recognition and acceptance of project management as a profession
  • Advance and improve the existing project management knowledge base
  • Develop and expand the project management community
  • Promote PMI organizational excellence/viability
