Affordable PM Classes for Nevada Nonprofits

In an effort to give back to the community, PMI-NNV is offering project management classes to area nonprofit organizations at greatly reduced costs. Discounts may also be available for hosting a class at your facility.

Course content focusses on situations specific to nonprofit organizations in fields such as education, social services, health care and government. Participants complete activities in key processes and techniques and receive a resource workbook with ideas and templates to help complete projects on time, under budget and within scope.

Half Day Class (3 hours)

Basic Project Management Concepts
Project Manager Role
The Process (The Five Process Groups)
Key Lessons Learned

Key Templates and Exercises:

Identify a current or past project in your agency that meets standard project criteria.
Create a project charter document for a given nonprofit situation.
Create a roles and responsibilities chart for a given nonprofit situation (optional exercise, depending upon time).
Expand on the milestones, deliverables, and schedule in the charter that would be part of the larger project plan.
Develop a Risk Impact chart.
Complete a short Lessons Learned Report for the project you identified in Exercise 1.

Classes are recognized by the international Project Management Institute Education Foundation (PMIEF) and taught locally by credentialed Project Management Professionals (PMPs).
