IGT Production Area Tour and a PM Perspective of Projects by Mike Allen
PMI NNV goes on the road for our July Meeting. We are meeting at IGT to get an inside look at the gaming industry. Mike Allen will be hosting our Production Floor tour and giving us insight into what it takes to plan and execute IGT projects where Innovation is expected. Dinner will be served onsite in their Board of Directors Conference Room.

Mike Allen's Bio:
Mike studied electrical engineering at Southern Illinois University, before moving to Reno in 2002. Between casinos and manufacturers, he has Worked in the gaming industry for over 20 years, with a couple of breaks in between. He has been involved in both the operations and slot machine design sides of the business, most recently working as a Technical Project Manager for IGT's Game Platform Engineering department.
In Mike’s role, he manages a number of shared component projects. These projects may include standalone features in addition to elements of separate projects. This structure can lead to numerous challenges, including multiple project managers, multiple budgets, and multiple timelines, all of which need to be coordinated in order to deliver the best possible product on budget and on time. This is especially true in technology fields, where innovation is the expectation. Mike will share some of his insights on how to succeed in this type of challenging environment.
