Thoughts from the President – October 2019
Hello! Can’t believe it’s now October.....this year is flying by way TOO fast!
Below are the key updates for the month:
Our membership (305) has finally surpassed 300 members – quite a
The monthy luncheon (relaxed round table format) is all set for Oct. 15 at
Napa Sonoma South (11:45 AM). This is an easy way to earn 1 PDU and
converse with fellow P.M.’s, so sign up if you haven’t already!
Steven Roy, the Hot August Nights Car Events Committee Chairman, has
agreed to be our October dinner speaker (Oct. 22 / Napa Sonoma Plumgate).
You won’t want to miss this as not only is Hot August Nights an incredible
event each year in the Reno area – this is our last formal dinner event of
2019! Be sure to sign up ASAP to secure a seat, and for the early bird
discount ($25.00 vs. $30.00).
As noted in the September newsletter the yearly membership dues are
increasing from $30 to $35 effective January 1 (2020) – student memberships
to remain at $5.
This is our first ever increase in 10 years as a chapter, and much needed to

renew early to benefit from the current pricing, and don’t hesitate to talk to
any of the chapter leaders to understand all of the benefits of being a
For us to best serve the membership we rely on volunteers, for both help with
our various events as well as to bring in new ideas/perspectives. There are
many areas we could use help, but we would like to highlight the opportunity
to volunteer as our VP of Professional Development. This role is a board
member position, and a key role in bringing additional value-add to the
membership. The role is responsible for promoting P.M. professionalism and
advancing the knowledge and skill of practitioners, and includes helping to
champion/coordinate training programs, workshops, forums, dinner and
luncheon meeting presentations, and seminars.
We appreciate you,
